Thanks to the Y-Brush automatic toothbrush, it is now possible to brush your teeth effectively in just 10 seconds.
Y-Brush was designed in collaboration with dentists. The device mimics the Bass method recommended by health professionals. This method aims to clean teeth precisely at a 45-degree angle, as well as the gums and the junction between the two, where bacteria responsible for gingivitis and periodontitis reside. The length and fineness of the nylon bristles on the Y-Brush allow them to reach interdental spaces, the gingival sulcus, and the gums. Soft and rounded at the tips, the bristles do not damage the gums or tooth enamel.
Y-Brush has proven its effectiveness through numerous in vivo and in vitro tests.
The effectiveness of brushing—and by extension the toothbrush used—is primarily measured by its ability to remove dental plaque. A basic movement and any material can clean the surface of teeth, but they do not allow for deep and truly effective cleaning.
Y-Brush has been featured in many print and television media outlets. This gave dozens of journalists the opportunity to test the effectiveness of our sonic vibrating toothbrush and obtain proof. For example, see the article “Y-Brush: Brush Your Teeth in 10 Seconds Flat!” on mafamillezen.com.
A recent clinical study also demonstrates its effectiveness by comparing Y-Brush to the world’s leading electric toothbrush.
In vitro tests proving complete removal of dental plaque
Y-Brush is effective and removes dental plaque
Here is an effectiveness test conducted on a replica of a human jaw. The teeth are stained with a colored solution simulating dental plaque. Brushing allows visualization of the device’s cleaning action.
As these images show, Y-Brush removes all dental plaque present on the teeth (no red stains remain).
Y-Brush therefore ensures good oral hygiene and healthy teeth for a radiant smile!

10 seconds of brushing with Y-Brush equals 2 minutes of brushing with a manual/electric toothbrush
Our engineers also conducted comparative tests with a conventional toothbrush.
As we can see in the middle photo (image below), the Y-Brush removes all dental plaque in just 10 seconds. This is largely due to the presence of over 34,000 nylon bristles.
Even a conventional toothbrush does not achieve the same result after 2 long minutes of brushing. The time saved with Y-Brush does not compromise brushing effectiveness.

In vivo tests proving complete removal of dental plaque
Very recently, a scientific clinical study organized by dentists on 110 patients also demonstrates its effectiveness by comparing Y-Brush to the world’s leading electric toothbrush.
Previously, a series of in vivo tests was conducted in the mouths of about one hundred volunteer users.
The test subject refrains from any oral care for 36 hours to have both recent and older dental plaque in the oral cavity. At the end of this period, photos with plaque disclosing solution are taken. The test subject then uses the Y-Brush device for a single brushing session—5 seconds for the upper teeth and 5 seconds for the lower teeth—always following usage instructions and using toothpaste. After brushing, dental plaque is evaluated with a disclosing agent to measure the device’s immediate and concrete cleaning action.
These in vivo tests showed that the Y-Brush device is more effective than 2 minutes of brushing with a conventional toothbrush, removing even 15% more dental plaque. These tests also validated the necessary softness level and different brush sizes, vibration mode power, user comfort, and absence of gag reflex.
Here is a video test demonstrating Y-Brush’s effectiveness:
Our team also conducted tests comparing the effectiveness of Y-Brush’s nylon bristles to the silicone tips used by our competitors. You can find an article on this topic on our blog.
